haven't really been updating since we left Austin - have walked many more miles since then, but left my pedometer back in Texas - more later perhaps, once I get to France!

went to San Antonio and walked around Sea World again - this time in the evening, however, so it wasn't a lesson in dehydration!

found a nice path along which to walk in Brushy Creek near the garage where the car was getting fixed yesterday. Started out nice and cool, but then the sun popped out from behind the clouds and man, was it hot!

three days ago: 1.06
yesterday: 1.32
total miles: 11.27

found a good 1.2 mile loop that meanders along a nice creek in the neighborhood. Hoping to get some more distance in sooner than later. I've not been taking as many painkillers as I used to so I've had to take it a bit easier than normal, but at least I know what's hurting my body as nothing's masking the pain anymore.

walked many more miles this weekend, on the beach and along the marina of Port Aransas, but since I didn't use my pedometer, those miles don't count!

it is really hot out there! Mid-day walks are never wise if you're looking to stay cool.

today's miles: 3.24
total miles: 4.94

today while walking in a nearby neighborhood I found a bona fide Texan gulch! There were wildflowers wherever you looked, including many clusters of black-eyed susans, and wild cacti in bloom with beautiful yellow flowers. It was a really nice walk.

I'll figure out my Tolkien miles later. I'm trying to decide whether I want to do the Lord of the Rings walk, or the Hobbit walk.
